Chiropractic

The Chiropractic approach to health is holistic and natural (drug free).

Chiropractors understand that the body has a natural, innate ability to function and heal itself. The primary focus of Chiropractic care is to influence the nervous system via specific spinal adjustments which would thereby positively influence your health and wellbeing. Chiropractic care is not only for acute and chronic injuries, but is also preventative care.

How does Chiropractic work?

Our everyday movements/ functions (from breathing to physical movements) depends on the messages sent to and from the brain via the nervous system. Our nervous system (brain, spinal cord and nerves in our body) is protected by our skull and spinal column (which consists of 33 vertebrae). Everyday activities and stresses can cause biomechanical changes to the spine and peripheral joints. These biomechanical changes can lead to nerve irritation, interrupting the flow of messages to and from the brain. Your current level of health is the result of the quality and quantity of your nerve messages!

Chiropractors focus on these biomechanical changes so that your spine and nervous system can function at its optimum resulting in faster recovery and enhanced overall wellbeing.

Immediate Chiropractic benefits include:

  • pain and symptom reduction
  • improved mobility and flexibility leading to better posture and function
  • improved energy and general well being
  • less headaches, backache and other symptoms

Who can receive Chiropractic treatment?

Chiropractic care is safe for all ages.

There are many forms of Chiropractic techniques. We use different techniques that are tailored to suit your specific need and requirements. The main techniques used at our clinic are Diversified, Activator, Drop Piece, Cranial, Soft Tissue Therapy and Spinal Decompression Therapy

What are the some of the common conditions that Chiropractors treat?

  • Neck pain
  • Back pain
  • Sciatica
  • Headaches
  • Disc bulge
  • Acute and chronic injuries
  • Posture related issues
  • Management of scoliosis

What should I expect on my first treatment?

Your initial Chiropractic consult would take about 40 minutes. The Chiropractor will take you through a detailed history of your health and complete a thorough examination (which would normally include chiropractic, orthopaedic and neurological examination). If Chiropractic treatment is suitable for you, your Chiropractor would start treatment straight away. However, there are circumstances where treatment is not completed on the first consultation and your Chiropractor will go through the reasons why.

It is encouraged that you ask questions about your condition as we believe that the more you understand your condition, the easier it would be on your road to recovery.
